NYC Day 1

Adam and I just returned from an awesome trip to NYC!! It was an amazing trip and the best part is that it was just for fun - no work!! I didn't even take my laptop, and I only checked email once (ok maybe twice) a day!

It's been a while since I've had a multiple installment series, so I figured there's no time like the present. There's just so much great stuff that we did - how could it all be fit into one blog?

The best part of the trip was hanging out with our friends Brittany and Ryan who let us crash aka totally take over their whole apartment.

They've been living in NY for about a year for Ryan to attend Union Seminary and are now finishing up their time in the city and are off to UVA - Go Cavaliers!

So we flew in Tuesday night for a wonderful home-cooked meal followed by the introductory map-session from Ryan. Wednesday we woke up ready to go! Of course I maybe snapped a few photos so here's what we did:

1) Tour of Fairway Market - highlighting The Cold Room - seriously - this was one amazing grocery store!

2) A little morning snack: Gray's Papaya

My favorite portrait of Ryan from the trip:

3) Strolling through the Upper West Side

4) Lunch at Jean George's in the Trump Tower - incredible!

5) A stroll through Central Park

6) An afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art - here's some art that other people made and some art that I made and some art that I made using art that other people made:

6) Subway ride to the Bronx:

7) Yankees Game and one happy little boy!!!

Days #2 and #3 coming up soon!

it looks like you have had a great time and i can't wait to see more of it!

and i don't know about the theology behind the whole 'looking down from heaven' concept, but i can guarantee that this post would have made a certain old man thrilled to see that 'happy little boy'!
