Bracketology

The next round of March Madness begins tonight, which means that I have to make the most of this moment while it lasts - I'M CURRENTLY #1 IN BOTH POOLS I'M IN!! Just thought I'd relish it while it lasts. Yes, it's true, that I'm not a huge basketball fan, but if filling out a bracket gives me the opportunity to beat all of my brothers and my husband, I'm in.

Here's my bracket:

I'm kind of regretting the UNC wins it all slection - it's so cliche to pick UNC - what was I thinking? We'll see. Don't worry, I'll let you know if I hold on to first.

How-to of the day

Does anyone else get these?

On my personalized google homepage, I have a small category in the lower left corner called How-To's, provided by WikiHow. And what can I say except WikiWOW because they're amazing. Last week I was informed and entertained by this one that I sent to Reba.

How to Stand Out at Social Gatherings and Parties

She returned the favor by sending me these, all of which she seems to think valuable to me:

How to Fill an Awkward Silence
How to Meet New People Without Being Creepy
How to Blend With Trekkies Socially (**see my husband's blog - apparently I need this skill**)

Today's favorite is a special for my brother: How to Get Your Girlfriend to Play Video Games
(He may also find this helpful)

It's amazing how these can solve a problem in 3-5 easy steps. I decided to look up a few larger-scale problems and was sadly disappointed. Here's what I found:

Search: How to end poverty
Results: How to look elegant despite poverty

Search: How to be more like Jesus
Results: How to make a camp cabin seem more like home (clearly these are closely related)

Search: How to stop war
Results: How to reenact the Civil War with Rubber Band Guns

I guess Wikipedia is still trying to figure it out, too.

Nevertheless, let's all cross our fingers for more fun how-to's in the future - stay tuned.

hi

Hi friends.

Just wanted to check in and say hello. It's been a very busy couple of weeks with this thing called work and Spring Break visitors which has been a blast. I'll check back soon but just wanted to share some things that make me happy from the past few days:

1) Chipotle is coming to Foothill Ranch.

2) My friend Brett finds out where he will do his residency on Match Day - this Thursday.

3) Good news for the daily commute and beach-goers alike: the Laguna Canyon Road speed limit just got raised to 65 - finally!

4) Annie Blomquist is getting a new sibling.

Disney part deuce

In addition to spending the second Friday night of January at Disney, we also spent the third Friday night of January there - we can't get enough! (Can you tell I'm a little behind on my blogging?)

So we set off again with all of our warm clothes to enjoy the delights that Disney has to offer.

This week we started with Disneyland's park-friend, California Adventure.

Maybe it's just me not being a native Californian, but I thought it was brilliant and quite educational. All of the architecture and rides are based around the different cities and geographical regions of CA.

We then headed back to Disney and hopped in line for the teacups. The Witts, Warrens, and Adam are excited!

Let's be honest - the teacups never get old!

And, oh, the fun to be had with pictures! I'm not afraid to be that obsessive girl who won't stop taking pics!

The rest of the evening included:

1) a ride through the Haunted Mansion (yes! they pursuaded me to go!!)

2) a delicious snack of Dole Whip (that's Disney-speak for pineapple sorbet - yum!):

and 3) a re-match on Buzz's laser game. I'll just let this picture and the scores on it speak for themselves:

It was such a fun night with friends!! Yay for Disney!
