I'm also hoping that the opposite is true - "New hair makes everything the past". At least, if all of yours has fallen out, it does. So that is why I've been growing my hair for about 2 years. I'm donating all of my hair to Locks Of Love - an organization that uses donated hair to make wigs for children with cancer. I have several friends that did this in college, though I never thought I would be able to stand having my hair so long!
So, the time finally arrived when my hair was long enough to cut off the minimum of 10 inches - ah! And, just for kicks, I decided to let Adam do the honors and do the first major chopping. Luckily, the girls were around to support and supervise - what a fun Monday night activity . . . chopping off Mary's hair in Chaundel's kitchen - does it get much better than that?
So here's the final shot before it gets cut - can you believe how long it is! Yikes!

Adam and Jaime helped section off my hair - we decided one big cut wasn't wise as my hair is so thick! Just before he started cutting, I got this really sick nauseous feeling. And yes, we used whatever scissors we found in Chaundel's kitchen drawer.

Ah! The first one is over! Here's Adam looking triumphant and me wiping tears from partial fear & partial laughter at Courtney R sitting on the couch with panic and hyperventalation as she watches it all go down. I wish we had a picture of her more than of me!

In the end, we cut my hair in a few sections and overall it turned out pretty terribly. Adam, and both Josh and Jaime W all took turns cutting! The front looks reasonable, though the back is a lot more questionable . . .

I was so afraid of cutting off too much that we didn't even it up at all - I definitely came to work the next day looking exactly like the photo above. So, it was quite an exciting adventure! We cut off LOTS of hair, and I was so glad that everyone was there for moral support!

Oh, and yes, I did have a REAL haircut scheduled for the following evening, so here's the end product. WHOA! Super short!

Do you remember how we were going to grow our hair down to our waists for our senior year at BA? Crazy. And I'm glad we never did it. (That was you that I was going to do that with, right?)
HOT MAMA! Mar, you look awesome! It is inspiring me to cut mine off.. which i have been planning to do, yet don't have an appt for a few more weeks... i thought about growing it out long enough for that, but can't stand to go through the trauma of the awkward stage in the middle (you know what i mean since we have the same hair?) You look awesome - I am taking your picture to my hair lady! love you
I LOVE IT---you look hot--It is totally you.
IT LOOKS GREAT!!! Ever since Adam told me about it I have been dying to see pictures! I was going to do Locks for Love last fall, but got too annoyed with my thick, long mess...I am so proud of you for sticking it out!
I am even more amazed that you let Adam participate! Do you remember when he 'cut' his own hair in highschool? Glad he did a better job w/ yours!
