There may be those of greater fame
From houses of another name,
Whose grand exploits and daring ways
Will draw attention through their days.

But when the tale is heard to tell
Of those who live not famed, but well
Who falseness scorn and sloth eschew
Regardless of what others do,

And who believe the greater end
Is never to desert a friend
And wisdom is reward enough,
